WOMEN’S SUNDAYS & MEN’S SUNDAYS

Women’s Sunday & Men’s Sunday in our church were begun nearly 15 years ago, when Gordon Ellis became our pastor.  He saw these special, annual Sundays as opportunities for lay members of our church family to share their faith journeys with the rest of the congregation and witness to the power of God’s activity in their lives.  Our Board of Deacons agreed.  Through the years, these special services have been extremely well-received by our church family and many of the participants have become key leaders of our church’s life and ministry.  By tradition, Women’s Sunday has been offered during the winter and Men’s Sunday during autumn, but these dates are subject to change according to the needs of our church’s calendar.  On occasion, if we have the right mix of kids, we also offer a Youth Sunday, aimed at fulfilling the same goals as Women’s Sunday and Men’s Sunday.  And of course, the second Sunday in June is always Children’s Sunday, as our children complete their Church School year.  Children’s Sunday services do not, however, include personal statements and testimonies, but plays, dramas and musicals, which our children enjoy preparing and presenting.  We hope you enjoy this Women’s Sunday and find it both meaningful and inspirational.
