VIDEOTAPES OF SERVICES and SPECIAL EVENTS

We have long talked in our church about providing videotapes of Sunday services and various special events. We appreciate the efforts of Sam Hendrickson through the years, who has provided tapes of many special events and occasionally worship services. In late 2003, however, Gabriel Selmi decided that he wanted to make it his ministry to provide videotapes of at least one service each Sunday, as well as many special events in our church. Since that time, he has done just that, mostly at his own personal expense, and there is a stack of videos in our Church Library to prove it. As time has gone on, Gabe has also invested personally in new technological equipment enabling him to produce amazing creations, both on video and on DVD, as he recently did with Dr. David Bartlett’s sermon and Bible study, What Does the Bible Really Say About Homosexuality? It’s in our Church Library; check it out. Gabe plans to continue learning the technology and expanding his capabilities. What does the future hold? Whatever we wish. Some talk about mounting small cameras in the Meetinghouse and having monitors to allow us to watch what’s being filmed and switch from one camera view to another. Some talk about being able to film wedding and baptisms, as well as Sunday worship, and using proceeds from private work to fund equipment and Sunday worship tapes and DVD’s. Some talk about producing videos of services for cable TV. What would you like to see? Dare to dream! In the meantime, enjoy Gabe’s videos and take a moment to thank Gabe for all his time, work and expense for our church family.
