Prayer Circle, Healing Service and Prayer Shawls

Sally Visockis, a former member of this church, who died in 1999, was a woman of courage and grace, who faced several rounds of cancer.  If asked about the peace and calm which helped her to journey through this difficult time, she would say she was encircled by God's love through the prayers of her feloow sojourners in life.  Sally was a strong believer in prayer and its ability to work miracles in our lives.  In 1998, Sally gathered a small group of people who shared her convictions about prayer and started or Prayer Circle in the church parlor.  The Prayer Circle has met every Tuesday night since then, covering those in need with our love and prayers and directly supporting many others through the challenges they face on a daily basis.  Since then, the Prayer Circle has expanded to include a Healing Service on the second Tuesday of each month.  This is a time of prayer, music, quiet contemplation and communion.  It is at this service that we bless and distribute the prayer shawls knit for us by the Morning Women's Group.  These shawls are tangible reminders to those in need that God's loving arms are wrapped securely around them.

Please join us Tuesday nights and become part of this powerful ministry of prayer.  If you know someone in need of a prayer, please make out one of our prayer request cards found in the pews.

If you are interested in knitting one or our prayer shawls, please call Cyndie Holden at church. Cyndie and the Prayer Shawl ministry were recently featured in an article in one of our local papers. Click HERE to read the article.
