OUR CHICKEN PIE SUPPER & CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP

Saturday’s Chicken Pie Supper is our 19^th annual (with 1 year off as we built our new addition in 1998.)  The supper was started by our Mothers & Others group and was initially spearheaded by Nancy Bowman, Rita Burrell, Anne Norton and Linda Lawrence.  They created it to help fund church projects and used a menu they’d seen at other churches in New England.  Prior to 1997, all proceeds funded items needed by the church and some of its organizations.  In 1997, the group decided to create a new Church Scholarship, which would be given each year to a graduating high school senior, who had remained active in the life of our church family.  Melanie Bowman was our first scholarship recipient.  Three years ago, Linda Accuosti took over leadership of our Chicken Pie Supper, and this year for the first time, has expanded it to include two seatings.  If you’d like to help, contact Linda (860/628-7737).
