SAFE CONDUCT

Mission Statement
With prayerful guidance, the Safe Conduct Committee’s purpose is to develop and implement proactive policies and procedures to protect the children and youth of this church against child abuse, sexual abuse, and overall harm while they are in the care of church programs. The committee also functions to protect the staff and volunteers from false accusations.

Vision
We see a safer place for all at the First Congregational Church of Southington and seek to provide new avenues to increased safety for all through safety programs, diligence and actively exploring areas for improvement throughout our church.

Policy
Our Safe Conduct policies apply to all activities which take place within the building and properties of the First Congregational Church of Southington CT, as well as any programs, activities or events scheduled as part of the ministry of this church which take place off the properties of the church. In this policy, the term child or youth refers to a person less than 18 years of age and adult refers to a person age 18 or older. Policies apply to all groups using the church’s facilities; there are no exceptions. These Policies are subject to yearly review. Current copies of all Safe Conduct Policies, Forms, Guidelines, and Reporting Procedures are available in the Safe Conduct Binder in the Church Library.
