Therese MacCallum has been a part of Village Green since the school opened in 1994. She began as a teacher, and became director in 1997. Through her dedication, the program has grown to become a place families come to for its nurturing environment. Therese continued her work at Village Green until she lost her two-year fight with cancer, in November 2005.
Therese’s love of books inspired her to create a lending library for the children at Village Green Nursery School that has been a wonderful success during the past several years.
Therese felt it was important to support the whole family and often would offer parents suggestions of books to help deal with various child and family issues. It was her hope to add on a parenting section to the lending library- our goal is to complete her dream. With the help of Jane Richards-Jones and Amy Litke (Creative Parenting Advisory Board Members), we have compiled a list of books for the parent section. We suggest that anyone wishing to donate a book for this section of the library, review the recommended list of books below.
If you prefer that the staff choose an appropriate book, donations can be made and a book will be purchased in your name. Donation checks should be made out to VGNS with an attached note that it is for the purchase of a lending library book.
