Our thirteenth pastor, Dr. Ferdinand Q. Blanchard, was born in Jersey City, N.J., on July 23, 1876. He was graduated from Amherst in 1898 and continued his studies at Yale Divinity School, from which he graduated at the age of 25. |
In 1915 he became pastor of the Euclid Avenue Congregational Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where his twenty fifth anniversary was celebrated in February, 1940, when 500 church people attended a dinner in his honor. It was said that Dr. Blanchard was one of the foremost leaders, not only in the religious life of the city, but in the civic life as well. |
