Rev. Ellis has written a book, "New Beginnings: Preparing Families for Remarriage in the Church: (1991 Pilgrim Press, New York) and is currently working on a book of story sermons to be called "The Good News from Mount Grace."
Dr. Rev. Gordon Ellis and his wife, Diane, have two children. Their son, Ryan, is studying in Florida and daughter, Lyndsey will graduate in June 1999 from Southington High School.
Rev. Ellis is a talented guitarist, singer and song-writer and enjoys providing new and exciting forms of worship. Very early in his pastorate, these worship services began to attract many new families. He is able to affect change, based strongly in a genuine faith which relates to the young and also to the older members of the church in a positive ways. Early in Rev. Ellis’ pastorate, with the increased growth in membership, our Sunday school class rooms became inadequate. As the number of students quadrupled, it became evident that we were in need of more rooms, office space, and fellowship space. An extensive building project was completed and dedicated in 1998. We are able to enjoy more church gatherings and better serve the classroom needs of our young church population.
Rev. Ellis has brought change and growth to our church. He shares fully in its’ pastoral ministry and is a fine preacher and administrator who taps into the talents of others for the use of and to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rev. Ellis is joined in the duties of our church by Rev. Richard B. Haverly, our youth and family minister and Rev. Cynthia C. Holden, our co-ordinator of Caring Ministries.
