Construction Volunteer Guide

Construction Volunteers

Habitat for Humanity depends on construction volunteers like you to help us build homes our homeowners can afford.

• Construction volunteers do not need to be experienced builders.  We provide tools and training on site if you need them.
• Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
• On site supervision includes a professional construction manager and several “crew chiefs,” experienced Habitat volunteers who direct teams of 4-5 volunteers through the day’s tasks.
• There is no cost to you for being a construction volunteer.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone and Everyone! You don’t have to have any special skills, talents, or tools.  Everything you will need to know will be taught to you on site.  Habitat does have a minimum age requirement of 16. Anyone who is under 18 must have a Guardian Waiver Form signed.

We try to schedule the right number of people at each of our work sites to ensure that each volunteer can fully contribute.

To volunteer at a Habitat work site, please call Debi Ziburis, Volunteer Services Manager at (860) 541-2208 ext. 226 to schedule individually or as a group.
