John Parsons has been our Organist and Minister of Music since 1980.  He was previously Organist and Choirmaster of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in New Britain.  John did his undergraduate work at Alma College, majoring in music. After serving with the Army as a chaplain’s assistant, he then attended the School of Sacred Music at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, where he earned a Master of Sacred Music degree, concentrating on choral conducting.

Since John has been with us, we have increased the membership and repertoire of the Senior Choir.  We also began the Mustard Seeds, our outstanding children’s choir, and developed a concert series that has brought renowned artists to perform in the Music in the Meetinghouse concert series.
